Rosemary Ellen Guiley is a leading expert in paranormal and spirituality studies, and has been a dreamworker most of her life. She is the author of eight books on dreams, which emphasize how to understand dreams and how dreams are vital to our health, well-being, creativity, and even psychic development. Her most recent books are Dreamwork for Visionary Living, a comprehensive guide with self-help applications called “Dream Labs,” Dream Messages from the Afterlife, about how the dead visit and communicate in dreams, and The Pocket Dream Guide and Dictionary, which features how-to help for dream interpretation and a dictionary of more than 1000 of the most common symbols in dreams.
Rosemary has worked as a lay dreamwork facilitator with groups and individuals since the early 1990s. She is a former board member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams.
Rosemary’s interest in dreams began as an adolescent, when she learned that her mother had spontaneous precognitive dreams. The idea that the future could be previewed in dreams fascinated her, and she embarked on a self-study of the extraordinary dimensions of dreams. By the time she was in high school, she taught herself how to project out of body in dreams, send and receive messages, and look into the future.
Much later, her study of dreams expanded to include courses at the C.G. Jung Institute in New York City, as well as the literature on dreams in different fields: parapsychology, medicine, science, psychology, anthropology, history, and metaphysics.
Rosemary excels at interpreting symbols and applying them to dreams. However, there is much more to understanding dreams than isolating symbols. The symbolic elements of a dream must be related to the views and beliefs of the dreamer, and to the circumstances of the dreamer’s life. Rosemary’s approach is to help the dreamer find the truth of the dream.
Rosemary is a frequent guest on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory, and often talks about dreams. In fact, her very first radio show with George, while he was host of his own show in St. Louis, MO called Night Talk with the Night Hawk, was on dreams. So many people called in to ask about their dreams that the station switchboard crashed! After that, Rosemary became informally known as “the Dream Lady” and had frequent guest appearances with George.
Rosemary’s other work dovetails with her interests in dreams. She has worked fulltime as an author, researcher, and investigator since 1983, with broad interests spanning the paranormal, metaphysical, ufology, cryptids, and magical fields. All of these areas are diverse yet interconnected, and dreams figure prominently in all of our extraordinary experiences, including contact with the dead, aliens, and spirit beings.
In addition to writing, Rosemary lectures internationally, makes numerous media appearances, operates paranormal tours, and runs her own independent publishing company, Visionary Living, Inc. She is trained in energy healing and is a certified hypnotist with the International Hypnosis Federation. She offers regressions for past lives and entity contact experiences, and gives Tarot readings. She lives in Connecticut. Her website is www.visionaryliving.com.
